The NSW Young Nationals believe that the financial burden experienced by university students, particularly those in receipt of Youth Allowance and who are classed as independent by Centrelink, is becoming a major issue.
We believe that the Federal Government should increase the income cap for Youth Allowance recipients from $6136 per annum ($236/fortnight) to $10000 per annum ($384.60/fortnight).”
